SEATTLE -- A man shot by a Washington State Patrol trooper after a pursuit through Snohomish County Sunday morning remained hospitalized Monday.

The man was listed Monday in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The man's name was not available Monday. He's believed to be in his 50s.

The man will be booked into Snohomish County Jail once he's released from the hospital, said Shari Ireton, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, which handles officer-involved shootings.

The investigation is ongoing, and it's not yet clear what charges the man may face, Ireton said.

The man was shot in the shoulder after a high-speed police pursuit through Everett, Smokey Point, Lake Stevens and Snohomish. It started around 6:30 a.m. Sunday and wrapped up about 30 minutes later in the Clearview area.

Investigators believe the man was accelerating his vehicle toward police when shots were fired.

The trooper who fired was put on leave after the shooting, which is standard procedure, according to the State Patrol.
