What are we going to do about the growing numbers of people with mental illness? Instead of help for those individuals and their families, very little real assistance is available! The states are strapped for money and have been forced to discontinue many programs that reach out. People with mental handicaps feel isolated, hopeless and marginalized. These horrible tragedies that are becoming too frequent, demonstrate the desperate need to recognize the danger of ignoring the mental illness crisis.
