EVERETT -- Several bullet holes reportedly were found Tuesday morning in the walls of a south Everett preschool after a report of shots fired over the weekend.

Everett police are investigating. They don't believe the incident poses any danger to the public, officer Aaron Snell said.

"We do not in any way, shape or form believe that the school has been targeted," he said.

Police first were called for reports of shots fired about 2 a.m. Saturday near a building used for Head Start classes in the 8600 block of 18th Avenue W., Snell said.

They didn't find anything suspicious. Police came back later in the daylight and found shell casings, Snell said.

They went back to the building after damage was reported Tuesday.

They then found about a half-dozen bulletholes in an exterior wall, Snell said.

No injuries were reported. No further details were available.
