EVERETT — A man shot and wounded by police after a pursuit through Snohomish County on Sunday was expected to be booked into the county jail Tuesday evening.
The man, 50, of Federal Way, was released from a Seattle hospital on Tuesday, said Shari Ireton, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, which handles officer-involved shootings.
The man is under investigation for attempting to elude police and second-degree assault, Ireton said. His name has not been released.
The man was shot in the shoulder by a Washington State Patrol trooper after a high-speed police chase through Everett, Smokey Point, Lake Stevens and Snohomish. It started around 6:30 a.m. Sunday on I-5 in south Everett and wrapped up about 30 minutes later in the Clearview area.
Investigators believe the man was accelerating his vehicle at troopers when shots were fired.
