EVERETT — The Everett City Council has chosen three candidates to interview out of six who applied to fill retiring Councilman Arlan Hatloe’s seat.
Pete Kinch, Scott Murphy and June Robinson have been notified that they are scheduled to be interviewed at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 27 during the regular City Council meeting, according to a release Monday from city spokeswoman Kate Reardon.
Kinch is a former Everett mayor, Murphy is on the Everett Planning Commission, and Robinson is a former City Council candidate.
The other applicants were former Port of Everett commissioner Don Hopkins, former Lake Stevens City Council member Heather Oie, and Jocelyn Sievers-Bailey, an elementary school teacher.
Hatloe recently announced his retirement from position 3, and the seat becomes vacant Jan. 1.
The final selection will be made by a City Council vote Jan. 2, and the new member will fill out the remaining year of Hatloe’s term.
