I didn't think it would be possible to do this type of show on a much larger scale and still have it feel special, until last Friday.
On Friday night I finally made it to one the Fremont Abbey's offsite shows held at St Mark's Cathedral in Seattle. The lineup included Damien Jurado, Naomi Wachira, Pepper Proud who was joined by Jon Pontrello of The Moondoggies, and Kevin Long.
850+ people packed into the cathedral with pillows and cushions to sit wherever there was space. Every performance was great, but Damien Jurado brought the house down. He performed two songs with his son Miles assisting him on piano.
“I'm learning so much musically from a 12 year old boy who's blowing my mind every day” said Jurado of practicing these songs with his son.
He ended the night by bringing his chair down to the floor, standing on it and giving the crowd a completely unplugged and beautiful version of “Let Us All In.” The video is available below.
