WHAT: Abies Koreana Silberloche is a tree that appears to be waiting for the holidays. Korean silver fir is a resplendent two-toned conifer whose curved needles display the silver undertones, creating the look of a flocked tree.
Add to this its magnificent upright cones and you have one of the most interesting elegant conifers on the planet. Native to South Korea, it is extremely slow-growing.
SUN OR SHADE: Full sun to part shade.
SIZE: It will take approximately 10 years to reach 6 feet in height, so it is wise to plant a larger specimen. Ultimately it grows to 30 feet tall and 5 feet wide.
SEE IT: At the Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett; in the Conifer Garden inside the blue entrance columns.
