MUKILTEO -- Playing without star guard Kelli Kingma, Jackson got performances from Sierra Anderson and Faithaleen Lopez-Flores to defeat Kamiak 63-46 in a Wesco 4A South game.
Kingma's absence on Thursday night was due to a torn meniscus, according to Timberwolves head coach Jeannie Boyer.
"Kelli had minor knee surgery," said Boyer. "So it looks like the playoffs would be the earliest she could return if the everything goes as planned. We want her back and healthy, and we want to make sure we do what's right for her and her career."
Anderson and Lopez-Flores sparked the Timberwolves' offense, scoring 25 and 20 points, respectively. Brooke Kingma, who herself returned from missing a few games due to a stress fracture in her foot, contributed to Jackson's all-out effort with six points.
"I know it sounds cliche, but it really was a team effort (tonight)," said Boyer. "We had a big scoring night from Sierra and Florez, both really carried us. It was a good effort from so many players that helped spark us."
