Seahawks-49ers injury report; Rice, Thurmond, Trufant all questionable

Several key players returned to action for the Seahawks, practicing on a limited basis Friday, including corerbacks Walter Thurmond (hamstring) and Marcus Trufant (hamstring), and receiver Sidney Rice (knee), but all three will need to work out before the game to make sure they're ready to go, Pete Carroll said.

"They made it through this day today, we’ll go all the way to game-time with those guys," Carroll said of the cornerbacks

And on Rice, Carroll said, "Sidney got his work done, but we’ll still make sure he can run on game day and that everything looks right there. . . We’ll find out. He feels pretty good right now, but we’ve got to get to game day and run him and see how he can tolerate it. He thinks he’s playing, he feels like he’s going to.

Cornerback Richard Sherman, was absent for the second straight day, presumably for the appeal he reportedly had scheduled for Friday, but Carroll said as of now they're planning on having Sherman available.

"I’m anticipating that we’ll have him," Carroll said. "I know nothing else at this point."

On the prospect of Sherman playing after missing two straight days of practice, Carroll said, "You need practice time, but he is as smart a football player as we have on our team. He’s totally into everything we’re doing. We can tell when he’s not out there, because he is so sharp and he communicates to other guys. He knew when he left he was preparing to miss a couple of days, so we sent him with a bunch of stuff, so he should be fine. It’s not ideal."
