Finish your Christmas shopping:
If you need ideas, check out this list
that we ran earlier. Lots of good ideas, as suggested by readers.
Decorate your ride:
Snohomish plans its first-ever Freestyle Christmas Lights Cruise from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Drive your decorated vehicle -- two wheels or four, as long as it's street legal -- along a circular route that moves clockwise along First Street, Avenue D, Second Street and Union Avenue. Enter anywhere along the route, staying for a few laps or the whole hour. A map is posted here.
The event is free. Call 425-330-0831 for more info.
Celebrate the solstice:
Mark the longest night of the year by taking a walk on the Snohomish Riverfront Trail from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday. The trail will be lined with more than 500 paper luminaries. More details are here.
Festival of Poinsettias:
This is the last weekend for Molbak's holiday tradition. The event features more than 25 varieties of Molbak's-grown poinsettias and runs through Monday. The 14-foot-high poinsettia tree is a great place for family photos. On Saturday and Sunday, there will be live music, free slices of Danish kringle and hot beverages. Santa will be there for photo ops from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Check out molbaks.com
Take the kids:
Friday night is free at the Imagine Children's Museum from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Find more info here.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game City Championships is at The Comic Shop in Lynnwood at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The event is free to play. Players can compete in three age divisions for a chance at an invitation to the 2013 Pokemon World Champions in Vancouver, B.C. For more information, click here.
