Stevens Pass marks its 75th anniversary

Stevens Pass is celebrating its 75th anniversary this winter and with more snow than in recent history.
Since the beginning of the season in November, the ski area is already approaching half of its average annual snowfall.
And the extra snow means skiers and snowboarders can expect phenomenal conditions during the holidays, said Chris Dansforth, vice president of marketing and sales at Stevens Pass.
"Mother Nature has provided the best 75th anniversary present we could hope for," Dansforth said. "It's definitely the best start we've had in recent history."
And, this year, skiers can hit the slopes for less too.
The ski area has partnered with the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce to offer discount packages to skiers and snowboarders.
If you have a season pass to any ski area in the world, you can get a discount on lodging in Leavenworth and ski or snowboard at Stevens Pass for free.
If you're not a season pass holder, you can still buy discounted packages and save up to 25 percent on lodging and 50 percent on lift tickets.
Stevens Pass will close at 2 p.m. Monday, but after that it will extend hours from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Jan. 5.
