FREELAND — A head-on collision near Freeland on Friday night sent five people to the hospital.
The crash was reported just before 9:30 p.m., near where Highway 525 crosses Woodard Avenue, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.
A 1996 Nissan Pathfinder was southbound on the highway when it apparently crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2001 Toyota Corolla.
The Toyota’s driver, a Seattle man, 36, was flown via helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was listed Saturday in satisfactory condition.
The Nissan driver and his juvenile passenger, both from Federal Way, and two passengers from the Toyota were taken to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating.
