SEATTLE -- A Mill Creek man is facing up to 30 years in a federal prison after pleading guilty Friday to production of child pornography.

Phillip Steven Allen, 56, was linked to child pornography distribution after the search of a Bloomington, Ind., home, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle. The search showed child pornography had been emailed to Mill Creek and further investigation by the FBI led to Allen.

A search of his home in July 2011 turned up pornographic images of a young girl who is related to Allen, prosecutors said. The images were found during an examination of a computer and two external hard drives.

Allen's sentencing is scheduled for March 29 in U.S. District Court in Seattle. The mandatory minimum punishment is 15 years in prison, but he could face twice that, according to federal prosecutors.

The investigation was part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice effort to combat child sexual exploitation. More information: www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
