A little Christmas snow possible for lowland areas of county

EVERETT -- Lowland areas of Snohomish County could see snowfall on Christmas Day, but it won't be much and it won't stick around.
Possible snow is forecast for much of Western Washington on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle. Some areas could see several inches pile up.
That's doubtful here, though, meterologist Johnny Berg said Sunday.
Local areas are more likely to see a rain-snow mix, or a short burst of snowfall, he said. Any accumulation should be less than an inch.
"When the temperatures warm up during the day, it's all going to be gone," he said.
People should keep an eye on the forecast in case things change, he said.
Meanwhile, a fiber-optics cable system apparently was cut into in the Camano Island area, temporarily knocking out weather radar equipment there.
The radar was back up about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Some phone service may have been affected.
