ARLINGTON -- Several farm animals were rescued from an Arlington-area barn that caught fire early Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported about 1:15 a.m. along Highway 530 about two miles north of town.

No injuries to people were reported, said Branden Bates, assistant fire chief with the Arlington Rural fire district.

The barn sustained heavy damage, Bates said. Quite a bit of hay inside had caught fire.

Horses, goats and at least one cow were pulled to safety, according to The Herald's news partner, KIRO Channel 7.

Some piglets who were in the barn had not been found as of late Wednesday morning.

Crews remained at the scene for hours.
