Robbing the rich should be illegal

In response to the Dec. 22 letter, "System should benefit all society": The last time I looked, the United States is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy (ask Ben Franklin). Aside from that, it's time to stop blaming Bush for the last four Obama years. Our president, as commander in chief (his main job), has the responsibility to protect us from foreign enemies. I believe that is what President Bush tried to accomplish after 9/11. I wasn't a big fan of the Iraq war, but the Middle East needed to hear from us.
What has President Obama protected us from the last four years? Bush may have dug us in deep, but Obama has dug us in deeper. In my household, we have to curtail our spending to balance our check-books and pay off our "bad" credit. I can't go "rob" a rich friend to fix my mess -- it should be illegal for the government to do the same...
