Lynnwood presentation to feature Civil War quilts

Sign up for Weekend to-do list
Art historian Susan Olds will give a visual presentation about Civil War-era quilts and the woman who made them from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Jan 5 at the Lynnwood Library.

Olds draws from diaries of the Civil War era, during which women from both the North and the South sewed quilts, some of fine fabrics and detail to sell to raise money for the war efforts, and some of sturdier materials for the soldiers.

The free presentation is funded by the Friends of the Lynnwood Library, which is at 19200 44th Ave. W., Lynnwood.

Call 425-888-2148.
