Anniversary: Hope Covenant Church celebrates its one-year anniversary with a celebration worship service and reception at 10 a.m. Jan. 13. The church meets at Lake Stevens Middle School, 1031 91st Ave. SE. The church has grown from 11 families to more than 100 people. Each service closes with the same words: “Don’t go to church. Be the church!”

Salt of the Earth Soup Kitchen: noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett.
