EVERETT -- Beth Carlson scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but the hosts could not recover from a three-point first quarter in a loss to Post Falls in the championship game at the Archbishop Murphy Holiday Tournament.
Post Falls, undefeated and the top-ranked 5A team in Idaho in the latest Idaho media poll, forced 28 Archbishop Murphy turnovers and limited the Wildcats to 34 percent shooting from the field.
"They move so fast," said Murphy head coach Mark Bircher. "We watched their game (against Mountain View) on Thursday night and it's like 'Wow.' Defensively they were all over us in the first quarter and it took some getting used to that level."
Monti Cooper had six points and eight rebounds and Anna Maher added seven rebounds, four blocks and four assists for the Wildcats.
