EVERETT -- An Everett man was arrested for investigation of assault early Monday morning after a SWAT standoff.

Everett police were called shortly before 3 a.m. to a domestic disturbance complaint in the 6200 block of Commercial Avenue.

The suspect, 38, was accused of assaulting his wife.

When officers contacted the man, he refused to leave his home, Everett officer Aaron Snell said.

Based on previous incidents involving the suspect, the SWAT team was called to the location, Snell said.

The man walked out of his home around 9:20 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident, Snell said.

He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

His wife had what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries, Snell said.
