SEATTLE -- In case you haven't noticed: 2012 was a really wet year in Western Washington, especially this fall.

KIRO-TV reported more than 48 inches of rain has been recorded this year at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. That's nearly 11 inches above normal.

This was the seventh wettest year on record since weather officials began keeping track at Sea-Tac in 1945.

Equally impressive was the historic dry stretch earlier this year: 48 consecutive days this past summer without measurable rainfall. So 2012 had the second longest dry streak, while being the seventh wettest year.
