Exploding ammo needs attention
In a recent TV news cast, doctors who work in emergency rooms were asked for their views on gun violence. Their response was it's the bullets being used that are so devastating. This ammunition is designed to fragment or explode as it enters the victim causing terrible damage. The ammunition being used is an area of the gun control problem that seems to be getting very little attention but would seem to deserve more.
The questions I have are: Is it possible to take these fragmenting bullets off the market? Can we track who is buying ammunition, particularly in significant quantities? Is it possible to restrict the sale of ammunition to unqualified users? Can we develop ammunition that is only practical for certain applications like target practice and would be less injurious to people?
