License plates depicting the state flower, the rhododendron, are on sale now at state auto licensing offices, online or by mail.

The annual fee is $30 plus your standard license fee for a renewal, and $40 plus your license fee for a new plate. A portion, $28 of $30, is tax deductible. Plate sales benefit the nonprofit Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens in Greenbank and Whidbey Island. Fees will also go toward grants for native plant conservancy projects.

Go to www.dol.wa.gov/vehicleregistration/spflower.html for more information on ordering the special license plates.
