At least 4 suspected in Bothell beating, robbery

BOTHELL -- Police believe at least four people were seeking drugs and cash when they beat and robbed two men at a Bothell hotel early Wednesday.
The attackers used a club and a handgun to batter their victims, 22 and 28. The robbers made off with their wallets, clothing and one man's Mercedes.
The robbery apparently was planned by a woman, 24, who has known one of the victims since childhood, according to an affidavit prepared by Michael Stone, a Bothell police detective.
She allegedly called one of the victims and said she needed a place to stay because she'd had a fight with her boyfriend. The man told police he invited her to join him at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel on 15th Avenue SE, where he was renting a room.
The attack came early in the morning. One of the men said he woke up to three men striking him in the face.
The victims were handcuffed and robbed. When police were summoned, they found them still restrained. The phone lines to their hotel rooms were cut.
It didn't take long for police to track down the suspects.
Detectives went to the apartment complex in Lynnwood where one of the victims had met the woman to bring her to the hotel. During the holdup, she'd reportedly told the robbers where to look for the keys to the Mercedes, Stone wrote.
Detectives spotted the Mercedes at the apartment complex and documented who was going to and from the vehicle.
The suspects were arrested with the assistance of the North Sound Metro SWAT team. A 9mm handgun was found in the apartments where they were staying, as were wallets and identification belonging to both victims, according to court papers.
For suspects named in the affidavit, all in their 20s and 30s, were in the Snohomish County Jail Friday for investigation of a variety of potential misdeeds, including first-degree robbery, unlawful imprisonment, possession of stolen property and identity theft.
Some of the suspects have prior criminal history. No charges have been filed.
