CONCRETE -- Pressure defense helped the Darrington girls basketball team handle Concrete and remain undefeated in the Northwest 1A/2B.
"(There was) a lot of pressure on Concrete from us on our press," said Darrington head coach Jeff Anderson. "A lot of turnovers. A lot of fast break points. Especially in the second quarter when we scored 21. ... We kind of broke it open."
Amy Miles led Darrington with 14 points.
Despite the strong start to the season, the Loggers are not resting easy. They know they have tough competition and things to improve on.
"It is a tough league. Everyone is a potential danger," said Anderson.
Darrington has Friday Harbor tonight and Anderson says the Loggers need to be ready for their better ballhandlers.
"We got in a lot of foul trouble early today. We need to fix that and play a little more straight-up defense," Anderson said.
"Our girls are playing really well, shooting really well right now. We need to keep the ball rolling offenively and defensively we need to stay out of foul trouble and keep our starters in the game."
