2 Lummi members sentenced in killing of third

SEATTLE -- Two members of the Lummi tribe in Whatcom County have been sentenced in the stabbing death of a third.
The U.S. attorney's office in Seattle says 25-year-old Johnathan Casey Phair was sentenced Friday to five years in prison, while 22-year-old Dezi-Ray Thomas Louie received four years, both for involuntary manslaughter.
The two fought with Lamar Felipe James at a home on tribal land in December 2011 after a drug deal gone bad, and Phair stabbed James with a butcher knife, severing an artery. The two failed to call for help, fled the home and burned their clothes.
