Local music roundup: EPs and network TV

There are lots of great things happening for some local artists and I wanted to get the word out on a few things. So here is a quick roundup of some local music happenings. This isn't everything but there will be lots more fun news in the coming weeks. Even some from a couple of Everett bands.

Things are really starting to happen for Kris Orlowski. I have heard that the band just signed a deal with a big booking agency and tonight the band’s song "I Will Go" will be featured on the ABC television show "Private Practice." To celebrate the big occasion Kris and company are giving away a free download you can get here.

Here is Kris Orlowski’s recent KEXP in studio performance. Oh so good!

Seattle band Hot Bodies In Motion released their new EP last week and it has been in heavy rotation on my iPhone since I got it. These guys will be in Everett this Saturday night (more info later this week). You can get tickets here and listen to the new EP Principal A below.

The new Pickwick Covers EP is out on iTunes now for less than $3 and it’s worth it. Here is "Lady Luck," featuring Sharon Van Etten.

While Seattle’s corner of the Internet was buzzing about the Pickwick news yesterday, my number 1 man-crush Damien Jurado quietly announced via his Instagram account that a new album is written and he has studio time booked. For me, the news doesn't get much better than that.
