SHORELINE -- State Rep. Cindy Ryu and Snohomish County Council analyst Will Hall are among three finalists to fill a King County Council seat.

The job representing a north King County district is being vacated by Bob Ferguson, who will become Washington's new attorney general.

Ryu, D-Shoreline, represents the 32nd Legislative District, which includes parts of southwest Snohomish County as well the northwest corner of King County. Hall is a senior legislative analyst with the Snohomish County Council and an elected Shoreline city councilman.

Also making the cut was Rod Dembowski, an attorney with Seattle law firm Foster Pepper PLLC.

King County Executive Dow Constantine chose the finalists from a group of 13 applicants. Constantine on Tuesday submitted the names to the King County Council, which has 60 days to reach a decision.

The appointee will serve in office until certification of the next general election in November.
