The Seattle Sounders selected Indiana forward Eriq Zavaleta in the first round of Thursday's MLS draft.

Sounders FC came into Thursday's MLS SuperDraft with the No. 16 pick in the first round, but Seattle traded up with Toronto to get the 10th pick, then selected Eriq Zavaleta, a 20-year-old forward from Indiana University.

Zavaleta scored 18 goals during his sophomore season, was named the unanimous Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, and helped lead the Hoosiers to a national championship.

Here's Zavaleta's college bio.
