Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1963)

After more than 34 years of service with Darigold, during which he had seen the means of delivery progress from a horse and wagon to a truck, George Logan of Lake Stevens retired yesterday. He was congratulated for his long and faithful service by Marshel Buchanan, Darigold manager.

A French theme was chosen by students of Perpetual Help Junior High School for their fourth annual art show. Getting in the mood for the show were Tom Reischman, Marlys Nagle, Mike Doleshel and Eileen Larson.

25 years ago (1988)

Jack Walkley was seated as the new president of the Everett Navy League, succeeding Hank Robinette. Other new officers were Jean Look Krischano, Vi Rielly and Ken Holmgren, vice presidents, Nola Deierling, secretary, Walt Kelley, treasurer and Henry Chapman, judge advocate.

The new Everett area YWCA, located at 2702 Colby Ave, needed the following items for its office: Rolodex or other phone card file, calculator/adding machine with tape, dictionary, typewriter, clock, file cabinet, waste basket, stapler and staples and staple remover. Those wishing to donate could contact Kay Anderson or Helen Beeston.

By Jack O'Donnell from Herald archives at the Everett Public Library.
