The owner and executives of a Lynnwood networking-hardware reseller were indicted last week in U.S. District Court in Seattle, charged with conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Connectzone, which on the Web lists an address at 12512 Beverly Park Road, sold Chinese-made cables and other equipment, claiming them to be Cisco products, the indictment states, when in fact the goods were provided by Xiewei Electronics of Shanghai. Two representatives of that company also were indicted.
Three U.S. residents were charged in the case, which was investigated by the Seattle-Tacoma Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) of federal and local law enforcement agencies. The accused are Daniel Oberholtzer, 50, of Lynnwood, the company owner; Warren Wilder, 46, of Auburn, the sales manager; and Edward Vales, 31, of Seattle, the production manager.
The three appeared in court last week and pleaded not guilty, said Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle. Trial is scheduled for March 25.
