Sign up for Weekend to-do list
Well, here we are, almost to February, and it's time to ask: How's that resolution to get in shape going for you?

Hmmm. That's what we figured.

Perhaps you might get motivated with a session or two at Camp Motivation? Maybe you like the sound of Camp Sweat?

Or are you a "work out on the weekend kind of person?" No problem, there's Weekend Warrior.

These are the names of the three boot camps you can sign up for to help you kick-start that resolution at Diverse Bootcamps.

Formerly called Total Sweat Fitness, Diverse Bootcamps is run by certified personal trainer Al Yenkevich, who has more than 20 years' experience in the field.

There are three things Yenkevich maintains about his boot camps:

  • He allows each person to work at their own fitness level.
  • He doesn't get up in anybody's grille.
  • He believes people who don't like to go to the gym enjoy his boot camps.
"Camp Motivation, the evening Camp Sweat or the Weekend Warrior Class will rock your fitness world," Yenkevich claims on his website.

The hour-long sessions incorporate 50 different workouts, so the boredom factor is low and the calorie-burning is high -- 500 to 1,200 calories per session, Yenkevich said.

Some participants have lost more than 70 pounds.

Camaraderie is high in boot camps, he said, and the cost is far lower than hiring a personal trainer. Single session workouts at Diverse Bootcamps are $20 each.

Camp Motivation starts at 9:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Willis Tucker Park, 6705 Puget Park, Snohomish. A new four-week boot camp begins Feb. 11.

Camp Sweat meets at 6 and 7:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Beautiful Savior Hall, 12810 35th Ave. SE, Everett. The next session begins Feb. 11.

Weekend Warrior is held at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. Weekend Warrior classes are usually outside during the summer months; winter sessions are inside with the location to be determined each week. Weekend Warrior sessions are $15 each.

For more information or to register for a boot camp call Yenkevich at 425-330-3398 or go to www.diversebootcamps.com/.
