MLK Day of Service a great success

We were delighted to read the Tuesday article by Julie Muhlstein, "County teens take a 'day on' to serve community." The national Martin Luther King Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King's vision of a beloved community.
On the national scale, the MLK Day of Service brings together nonprofit, corporate and public partners to create lasting change in the community. This spirit of partnership is also true here in Snohomish County, where United Way is proud to partner equally with Catholic Community Services, RSVP -- Sponsored by Catholic Community Services, and The Y of Snohomish County to organize the MLK Day of Service for teens.
The 2013 MLK Day of Service was a great success, and marked our fourth year of partnering together on this event. We look forward to many more successful MLK Days of Service with these fantastic organizations.
