LB Leroy Hill arrested for domestic violence

Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill was arrested in Issaquah Tuesday for domestic violence. The news was first reported by KOMO Sports’ Mike Ferreri. Hill has not yet been charged, according to the report. According a statement from the Issaquah Police Department, Hill was taken to the Issaquah County Jail and is being investigated for unlawful imprisonment/domestic violence, as well as third-degree assault/domestic violence.

This is not the first time Hill has been in trouble with the law during his eight-year career in Seattle. In 2009, he was arrested for marijuana possession after falling asleep at the wheel in Atlanta. He received probation in that case and was also suspended one game by the league. He was arrested again in 2010 in a domestic violence incident at his Issaquah home, though Hill reached an agreement in that case to charges dismissed if he avoids further legal trouble and meets other court-directed stipulations. Hill was also arrested in March of 2012 for marijuana possession, though those charges were dropped.

Hill, 30, is a free agent.

UPDATE

Here is the statement released by the Issaquah PD:

At about 4 p.m. Jan, 29, 2013, Issaquah Police responded to an area near Cougar Ridge Drive Northwest for a report of an assault that had been ongoing during the day.

Issaquah officers contacted a 26-year-old female Issaquah resident, who reported that her boyfriend, Leroy Hill, assaulted her several times during the day, and that he kept her in his residence against her will.

She stated that Hill blocked the doorway and would not allow her to leave the residence and took her cell phone. The woman was reportedly able to escape the residence when Hill used the bathroom.

The woman was transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah, where she was treated and released.

Officers made contact with Hill, a 30-year-old Issaquah resident, at the 60 block of Cougar Ridge Drive Northwest. Hill was subsequently arrested and taken to the Issaquah City Jail.

Hill will be booked into the King County Jail for unlawful imprisonment – domestic violence, as well as third-degree assault – domestic violence.

This case is currently under investigation.
