Thought for food

Two please, mustard and kraut: An arcane state law on property-tax exemptions for nonprofit religious groups theatens the popular Everett Sausage Festival run by Our Lady of Perpetual Help each fall as a fundraiser for its school. The Legislature is considering a bill that could ease rules that appear to prohibit vendors, entertainers and others from taking a cut of the profit.

We could go into more detail about the law, but as Otto von Bismarck advised, like the festival's sausages, it's best if we don't tell you what goes into making it.

And you thought the turducken was unappetizing: With target consumers wolfing down Taco Bell's Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco, a taco dusted with Doritos nacho cheese dust, Frito-Lay says it will now introduce Taco Bell-flavored Doritos, which will recreate the flavors of the Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Taco on a Doritos chip.

Inspired, Taco Bell has begun work on the Extreme Taco Bell-Flavored Doritos Muy Loco Nacho Cheese Doritos-Dusted Taco. Extra cheese dust available on request.

--

Hold everything: The state Supreme Court has ruled that a Clark County deputy can sue Burger King over a claim that an employee spit a "slimy, clear and white phlegm glob" into his Whopper hamburger.

Shhh. You're going to give Taco Bell ideas.
