Monroe bank robbed, police seek suspect

MONROE -- The Union Bank in Monroe was robbed Friday evening after a man passed a note to a teller demanding money. The man implied he had a weapon, but no weapon was seen.

A teller handed an unspecified amount of cash to the man. The man left on foot about 5:35 p.m. No one was hurt during the incident. The bank is in the 200 block of W. Main Street.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-40s, wearing a brown coat, camouflage baseball style hat and work boots. He had dark brown hair and a full dark brown beard interspersed with gray.

The Monroe Police Department is continuing to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this robbery may contact the Monroe Police Department at 360-794-6300. Anonymous information may be left on the tip line at 360-863-4600.
