MONROE — Two men were killed early Sunday morning when their car left the road and crashed through a fence in the 23200 block of Sophie Road.

One of the men was from Sultan and the other was from Monroe. Both were in their 20s, but other details were not immediately available.

The collision may have occurred around 1:30 a.m. Neighbors told Snohomish County Sheriffs deputies that they heard a noise about that time but couldn’t see what caused it.

A delivery truck spotted the car about 5:25 a.m. and called 911. When deputies arrived, they found that the car had crashed through a fence. The two men were dead at the scene.

The case remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
