With the win, Jackson advances to the district championship game next Friday at Glacier Peak High School and will face Arlington.
Jackson jumped out to a 19-12 lead after one quarter and extended that lead to 34-16 at halftime thanks to its increased second-quarter defensive effort.
"I think our defense was good right from the get go, first and second quarter," Jackson coach Steve Johnson said. "But in the second quarter we kind of put it all together offensively and defensively."
Offensively, the Timberwolves were led by Brian Zehr, who scored a game-high 22 points.
Jackson's Jason Todd added 19, Connor Willgress scored 11 and Dan Kingma had nine, all on three-pointers.
In an earlier season meeting with Mount Vernon that was much closer, Todd provided the bulk of the offense. That was not the case on Friday.
"Offensively we played much better (this time), Johnson said. "Last game I think Todd was the only player that score in double figures if I'm not mistaken. This game Zehr stepped up as he is capable of doing. Kingma hit some 3s, one at the end of the half that was pretty big."
Casey Leek paced Mount Vernon with 10 points.
