VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A Vancouver man has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of a man he suspected was a car prowler.
Sean H. Doucette said he was attacked Jan. 29 and fired in self-defense. Witnesses told police a 19-year-old Portland man was trying to get away from Doucette after an altercation.
The Columbian reported that more than a dozen members of the family of Iosif Dumitrash were in Clark County Superior Court for Tuesday's arraignment.
They say he was visiting friends that night in Vancouver.
