RENTON — The Seattle Seahawks signed cornerback and kick returner Will Blackmon, the team announced Wednesday.
Blackmon was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He spent 2006-09 with Green Bay, and was released during the 2010 training camp.
Blackmon signed with the New York Giants in 2010, but was released following the season after landing on injured reserve with a knee injury.
The Giants re-signed Blackmon in 2011, and he earned a Super Bowl ring in the Giants victory over New England in Super Bowl XLVI.
Blackmon spent 2012 with the Arizona Wranglers in the Arena Football League.
The Seahawks formally announced Travis Jones as defensive line coach. Jones spent the last five seasons with the New Orleans Saints as assistant defensive line coach and entered the NFL coaching ranks with the Miami Dolphins from 2005-07, where he was on the same defensive staff as current Seahawks defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn.
Seattle named Nick Sorensen as assistant/special teams coach; Dave Canales as assistant quarterbacks/offensive quality control coach; Nate Carroll as offensive assistant and Marquand Manuel as defensive assistant.
