New Sultan police chief announced

Snohomish County sheriff's Lt. Rob Beidler will be the new Sultan police chief.

Beidler is scheduled to be sworn in Thursday night, city officials said.

Beidler replaces sheriff's Lt. Jeff Brand, who has served as chief in Sultan the past few years.

A formal announcement of the post is expected after Thursday night's ceremony.
