Carlson added three blocks, three steals and two assists.
"Beth is just a monster on the boards," said Wildcats head coach Mark Bircher. "Those (19 rebounds) were hard rebounds. They had a 6-2 girl on her, a pretty good post, and they were competing hard. They were not easy rebounds, but Beth is just tireless."
Bircher credited the win to his team's quick starts at the beginning of the first and third quarters, where they outscored Lake Washington 17-9 and 14-7, respectively.
"The first quarter we came out on fire," said Bircher. "(Lake Washington) started coming back in the second quarter, but then we had a similar third quarter where we came out to a 10-0 run in the first two minutes. We got that comfortable lead and were able to relax the rest of the way."
Assisting Carlson were MaireMichael Carroll and Anna Meher. Both Wildcat players finished with 15 points to lead all scorers.
With the victory Archbishop Murphy (18-4) -- the Cascade Conference no. 2 seed -- not only avenged a tough loss to Burlington-Edison, but stayed alive in the District Touranament. The Wildcats now await Sehome, who defeated Lynden in overtime on Thursday. The two teams play Saturday at 6 p.m. in a loser out-winner to state game at Mount Vernon High School.
