Weekend to-dos: A quest, cute animals, music, more

Casting about: The Northwest Fly Fishing Show, featuring fly-tiers, casting demonstrations and seminars, is 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lynnwood Convention Center. The event will also feature the International Fly Fishing Film Festival, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $15 for one day or $25 for a two-day pass. Prices vary for children, active military and Scouts younger than 16 and in uniform. Film festival tickets are $15; $10 with admission to the Fly Fishing Show. Find more details here.

Go on a quest: The fourth annual Great Northwest Glass Quest starts in Stanwood on Friday. You can scour parks and businesses in search of plastic clue balls that can be redeemed for gorgeous, hand-blown glass balls. The event runs through Feb. 24. Pick up a Glass Quest treasure hunt guide at any participating business, chamber of commerce or information office in Stanwood and on Camano Island. Find out more in our story here.

Cute and fluffy: Meet alpacas at the Alpaca Herdsire Review, Pen Sale and Fiber Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds. In attendance will be alpaca herdsires available for breeding and there will also be an Alpaca Pen Sale and Fiber Market so that the public can see and buy alpaca products as well as alpacas. Live and quirky: Pickled Okra will play Saturday at the Hometown Hootenanny at Historic Everett Theatre. The band delivers quirky takes on traditional bluegrass, along with some old-timey favorites and their original tunes, which can contain edgy harmonies or some funk or reggae. Pickled Okra is just one of the acts on the bill. The event will be mostly unplugged and feature acoustic music, bluegrass, folk and Americana. Read more in our story here.

He shoots, he scores! See the Harlem Globetrotters in Everett on Sunday afternoon. The famous team will add some interest to the already impressive show by letting fans vote on new rules. Read all about it in our story here.

Watch: If you’re a “Downton Abbey” fan, you probably already know what you’re doing Sunday evening. Just in case, though, here’s a reminder. The season finale is at 9 p.m. Sunday.

Dance or gymnastics? Pilobolus performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. The group performs dance like you’ve never seen it before. Their acts are creative and extremely athletic, almost gymnastics. Find out more or buy tickets here or watch a video here.

Rummage sale: Clothes For Kids will hold a rummage sale, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday, at 16725 52nd Ave. W. in Lynnwood. Clothing, housewares, tools, electronics, books, toys, furniture and more will be for sale. All proceeds benefit the Lynnwood nonprofit, which helps provide wardrobes to low-income families.
