EDMONDS -- A Lynnwood-area man, 30, was arrested Sunday night after reportedly bringing a sword into an Edmonds Starbucks and then leading police on a high-speed pursuit.

The man reportedly had been making unwelcome advances toward one of the employees at the coffee shop at 220th Street SW and Highway 99, Edmonds police Sgt. Mark Marsh said. The man was asked to leave the store and he became angry.

He allegedly then came back into the store wielding a medieval-style sword with a three- or four-foot blade, Marsh said.

Police were called about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect was in his car when they arrived, Marsh said. An officer attempted a traffic stop but the man drove off. A chase ensued, but the officer had to call off the pursuit for safety reasons.

The man later was found and arrested about 7:45 p.m. near his home along 29th Avenue W.
