LAKE STEVENS -- A man suspected of firing shots during the Feb. 9 robbery of a Lake Stevens teriyaki restaurant was arrested in Seattle.

Surveillance video shows the suspect using a nearby public restroom just minutes before he held up Yumiko Teriyaki at 517 Highway 9, according to the arrest report.

The man, 22, of Lake Stevens, was being held Tuesday on $100,000 bail for investigation of first-degree robbery and second-degree assault. He was arrested Feb. 15.

His apartment is in a complex a few blocks from the restaurant, according to court papers.

A Lake Stevens police officer reportedly recognized the suspect from surveillance footage.

Police allege the man entered the restaurant just before 7:50 p.m. He aimed a semiautomatic handgun at an employee and demanded money. When the employee hesitated, the robber fired two shots toward the floor, about a foot away from where the employee stood, court papers show. The employee wasn't hurt.

The robber ran away with about $100.

Surveillance video from nearby stores after the robbery shows the suspect running in the direction of his apartment complex, according to police.
