Stealth's Duch named NLL Offensive Player of the Week
Washington Stealth forward Rhys Duch was named the National Lacrosse League's Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday for his performance in a 16-14 home victory over then West Division-leading Calgary.
Duch recorded a hat trick and seven assists in the win. His seven assists were a career high and his total of 10 points tied a career high he had set two other times. His 10 points were also a season high.
With the win, the Stealth moved in a first-place tie with Calgary and currently have the edge over the Roughnecks by virtue of leading the season series 1-0.
Other weekly NLL awards went to Minnesota's Jordan MacIntosh and Kiel Matisz, who were named Transition Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively. Philadelphia Brandon Miller was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week.
The Stealth return to the floor on Sunday to face Minnesota, the opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
