Free week at horse camp is essay contest prize

Sign up for Weekend to-do list
Horse Country Farm in Granite Falls is holding an essay contest to find one senior and one junior counselor who will win a free week of training camp.

The deadline to enter the contest is March 15. Contest participants are to write on the topic: "I want to be a senior -- or junior -- camp counselor because ..."

Counselors win the chance to ride on three different horses each day of camp while they improve riding and leadership skills, and learn how to teach.

Also, in this intensive riding camp, counselors will train young horses, practice ground work and learn natural horsemanship techniques.

Counselors also participate in trail rides, games on horseback and learn about horse care.

Mail essays to Horse Country, P.O. Box 2, Granite Falls, WA 98252 by March 15. Go to www.camphorsecountry.com for more information, or call 360-691-7509 or 425-335-4773.
