Whitworth women's basketball player Emily Guthrie has been named to the All-Northwest Conference second team.
Guthrie, a senior guard from Snohomish, averaged 9.8 points and 4.8 points in 19 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Even though she missed the Pirates' final nine games, she finished as the team leader in 3-point field goals with 39.
"I'm so happy that people recognized Emily's contribution to our team," Whitworth coach Helen Higgs said in a statement released by the school.
Whitworth posted a 21-7 record this season and earned a berth in the NCAA Division III national tournament. The Pirates' season ended with a 72-65 first-round loss to Emory University on Friday in Atlanta.
