Published:
I worked with Mark Roe as a fellow deputy prosecutor for several years. I also fielded questions from Scott North, Jim Haley and other reporters. I resigned from the prosecutor's office in 1994 and have since retired. I have no stake in the investigation of the Snohomish County Executive; no one has asked me to write this letter.
I do not know the facts well enough to comment on the present issue.
I do know that Mr. Roe, Mr. North and other Herald reporters always conducted themselves with the utmost integrity, and I doubt they have changed.
In my opinion, the county executive should focus on defending the allegations, rather than attacking people just doing their jobs.
