Archaeology experts from King County and the Burke Museum will offer free artifact identification services Saturday at the Monroe Library.
The Monroe Historical Society is hosting the event for Snohomish County residents.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m., when Laura Phillips, archaeology collections manager at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, will speak about local archaeology.
After that, archaeologist Philippe LeTourneau of the King County Historic Preservation Program will join Phillips to identify objects from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Bring in your backyard finds of bones, rocks, stone tools, American Indian artifacts or anything else you have collected over the years that you would like identified.
No more than two items will be identified and no appraisals will be given. The event is suitable for all ages.
The library is at 1070 Village Way.
